Still on the topic of the Holy Spirit, the Living Spirit… we have learned that the Holy Spirit is God, He can counsel; He’s a Person, not an ‘it’. The first time you encounter Him is at salvation; the second time is during the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And we must always go back again and again for a refill of Him.
Briefly, let’s look at what the breath of the Holy Spirit can do for us:
1. Helps us to know how to praise God better (John 4:24)
2. Helps us to pray better (Rom. 8:26)
3. Gives us power in different dimensions
(a) Power to resist sin
(b) Power to witness [A true witness not only preaches the Bible, but lives according to the Word]
(c) Power to overcome the devil
(d) Power to fulfill purpose/destiny
In this blogpost however, I would like to tell you about the 3 compartments of the Holy Spirit. They include the spirits of the Lord, the gifts of the Spirit and the fruits of the Spirit.
COMPARTMENT 1: THE SPIRITS OF THE LORD – ISAIAH 11:2
When the Holy Spirit lives in you, He gives you certain weapons which you’ll need for YOUR DAILY DEALINGS IN THE OUTSIDE WORLD. These weapons include the spirits of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and the fear of God.
COMPARTMENT 2: THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT – I COR. 12:7-11
There are diversities of gifts, administrations and operations; but all these spiritual gifts are given through the Spirit of God. All these gifts are in us through the Holy Spirit, but they are manifested as He wills (vs. 11). These gifts are given to us TO OPERATE WITH WITHIN THE CHURCH.
