IT IS TIME TO PROPHESY (I): SPEAK THE WORD

PROPHESY – means to foretell or predict; to indicate beforehand/ahead of time; to declare by divine inspiration; to speak as a mediator. God expects that we predict from a second sight – not from what we see physically but from our inner eyes. God’s words that formed the earth came from what did not exist – our words must come from our inner and sixth sense, which is our faith and God sense! We must say out what we want to see from our sixth sense – from God’s eyes! To prophesy is to speak what God is saying about us; to voice out God’s words! Prophecy does not come from the flesh; it bubbles out of your spirit to be released through your mouth. Speak from your spirit. There must be a divine expectation and projection; something beyond the natural or ordinary. The dictionary would define it secularly as speaking from an extrasensory perception. But scripturally, it is speaking from your spirit.

Use Your Mouth

The emphasis is on using your own mouth; when you prophesy it will come to pass; because, just like God, your words are creative—that is how God created man. Your mouth is your weapon of victory and success in life. As a covenant child of Abraham, God was speaking about your mouth in Isa. 41: 15 – “Behold, I will make you a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: you shall thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shall make the hills as chaff.”

The Operation – The Seed & Harvest Principle

Mark 4: 26-29 – “And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; and should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knows not how. For the earth brings forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest is come.”

All of life on earth is about seed sowing; “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest… will never cease” (Gen. 8:22; emphasis mine). Life, and that is the kingdom of God, is about seed sowing, better still, seed management. Your mouth is responsible for doing two things:

  • With your mouth you sow the seed.
  • With your mouth you call in the harvest.

SOW THE SEEDIn verse 26, it is clear that the man’s duty is to cast seed into the ground.  Spiritually, both are the responsibility of your mouth. The process between is the responsibility of the earth and the seed. God has programmed this earth to produce after what you give to it. Whether the man sleeps or wakes up the earth and the seed are both well equipped by God. They never fail to produce. In other words, we are the scatterers of the seeds that will produce our future harvest; what we have said and will say is what will work for us! If the doctor diagnoses a blocked womb and you scatter the seeds with your mouth that your womb is blocked, the womb will remain blocked because it is what you have confessed and predicted with your threshing instrument! Regardless of  whether we are asleep or awake, everything we have said with our mouths will sprout and grow! Therefore, whatever we do not want sprouting, growing and gaining roots in our lives, ministries, marriages, careers, businesses, health etc, we must not say with our mouths; because even though we are not involved in the growth process, we have already put the process in motion by our speaking!

From Gen. 1 till date, the earth produces after what you speak to it! it started to transform and grow when God spoke His words – this simply shows that we are the first prophets of our lives; whatever we speak, we will see!

The Seed is the Word of God

All through the Bible, it is seen that the word of God is the seed. In fact Jesus, in explaining the parable of the sower, said pointedly; “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God (Luke 8:11). The seed carries the DNA to produce what you desire. Always! The only choice you have in the process is to watch the kind of seed you sow — watch what you say! That will determine what you will surely harvest. This is powerful if you understand it; but dangerous if you do not. The whole process is initiated by man, by you! —“the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground.” You operate the kingdom with your mouth.

What are you saying to yourself?

What are you sowing into your own life? You remember the woman with the issue of blood; she operated this process successfully for her own good. She heard about Jesus after suffering for twelve years. “And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, when she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole” (Mark 5:26-28). When she heard of Jesus, she heard words. It was seed she received. She kept saying to herself, “If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole”. She was sowing good seeds into her own life. And she got what she said.

When we sow with the words of our mouth, we are either speaking from our point of expectation or point of experience; we are either speaking from our physical eyes or from our inner spiritual eyes – the one that only sees what God wants for us!

CALL IN THE HARVEST – In verse 29, it is man’s duty to put in the sickle to bring in the harvest. Everything happening in our lives – negative or positive – is as a result of what we have spoken; and the negative results can only be stopped in the same process we brought them to life – speaking a STOP to it!

The same way we sowed with the words of our mouths is the same way we will call in the harvest.

Luke 7: 1-3 – “Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum. And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick, and ready to die. And when he heard of Jesus, he sent to him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.”

The centurion heard about Jesus! The seed that was scattered to his hearing was words about Jesus, and what he heard made him take a decision – he spoke his own words for the elders to beseech Jesus to come to his house and heal his sick servant.

What we hear is seed; what we speak as a result of what we’ve heard is seed also. Something changes every time we hear and then speak! What the centurion heard made him speak words that brought Jesus to his house! What or who are the words you are speaking bringing to your house?! Are you calling in your harvest with the words you speak?

In vs. 6-10, the centurion told Jesus that he did not find himself worthy for Jesus to come under his roof, but pleaded that Jesus say THE word! Jesus admired his great faith, and THE word healed the servant! What is THE word that God is saying about your supply, your needs, your disease? Know the word, and speak the word! When you speak THE word that you are expecting and not experiencing, that is when you prophesy!

Conclusion:

What is Jesus hearing from your mouth? Is it words of faith? Is it the words of God you are speaking; or you are speaking evil over your life. God will only respond to the words of faith that you speak. If you are not speaking His words, you are not subject to the authority of His kingdom. It won’t work for you. So speak THE word; not a word. The word is God’s word. A word is your own word. Any time you speak the word you are releasing the authority or ability of God. The earth is designed to respond to it.

I pray and declare, every door shut against you is opened from today! Your business and career that is crawling gains speed from this moment onwards in Jesus’ name! Any part of your body that is failing, receive brand new parts in the name of Jesus! Whatever has died in your life, I command life into it! You’re moving forward in the name of Jesus, sickness will not ravage your body! Heaven will give you a sign of victory today in the name of Jesus! You will rise above your problems, the heavens are opened over you!
