Eph. 3: 20 – “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”
There’s nothing you can ask that God cannot do.
Num. 11: 23 – “And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD’ hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.”
There’s nothing too hard for God to do. God can do anything and everything.
Gen. 18: 13, 14 – “And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? Is ANYTHING too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”
At the appointed time, God can and will do ANYTHING that we ask! It is not until it His will that He will do it; we should come to Him with expectation and not murmurings – He knows what we are going through, He knows our pain – He doesn’t want to hear about those things; what He wants is for us to tell with expectations in our hearts, what we want!
In Matt. 9: 27-31, the two blind men cried after Jesus to have mercy on them, and the only question He asked them was what they wanted! Of course He saw that they were blind, but He wanted them to say with their mouths what they wanted – it could have been money they wanted to demand for; but they asked for their sights and they got it! It is what we ask for that God will give! It is what we seek that we find! IT IS A BLANK CHEQUE!
In Matt. 15: 26, Jesus told the woman of Canaan that it was not right to serve the bread meant for the children to the dogs; this means that everyday God is serving bread – He is making sure there is food on the table for His children, He is making sure there is healing, joy, peace, every good thing that we can imagine to labour for, for our children and their comfort – God has provided them FOR His children; it is left to us to go to the table to get what we need, for our comfort, advantage and convenience! It is why Jesus included in the Lord’s Prayer, “Give us this day our daily bread.” There IS daily bread for our taking!
Jer. 32: 26, 27 – “Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying, behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?”
God repeated these statements severally in the Bible to emphasize that there is indeed nothing too hard for Him to do! He can do all and more than we can imagine, particularly the things we need!
GOD IS ABLE – ABRAHAM’S CASE
“And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.” [Rom. 4:19-21].
Abraham did not waver in unbelief regarding the promise of God. What was the promise of God? That Sarah will bear a son, right? But to prove to us that he was strengthened in his faith the Bible says he gave glory to God. “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God”. So both his words and action agreed.
ABRAHAM WAS ALSO FULLY PERSUADED
“And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”
That means there was no faith or fear. It was faith all the way. He was FULLY persuaded. Not partially, but fully persuaded. If you are persuaded it will show in your voice, action, countenance and in everything about you.
Abraham was fully persuaded that God was ABLE to perform what He had promised.
Did you notice the word able there? Compare that with Eph. 3:20. That is what we call faith. Look at the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5, beginning from verse 25. She had been bleeding nonstop for twelve years; twelve years is too much to have a strong hold. She had been seeing blood for twelve years – every day, for twelve years. When the time came for her breakthrough, instead of seeing blood, she began to look at the mirror, speaking to her own self, “If only I could touch the hem of His garment I will be made whole.” She was no longer seeing herself bleeding, she was seeing herself healed, and she was seeing the hem of Jesus’ garment and her hand touching it. She was fully persuaded after she heard about Jesus, so she took action.
You can’t say you have faith by only speaking and you are not acting.
What we say and what we do must both work together. The woman with the issue of blood began to speak her healing process, and she began to expect it. And ladies and gentlemen because she said it long enough and acted it long enough, it became a reality. That’s how faith works!
Are you fully persuaded that God is able and will bless every day of your life; that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above every vision, dream and prayer that you have?
Are you fully persuaded that this year will be your year of unprecedented blessing?
I am fully persuaded that some of you who have been waiting to have your baby will have them.
I am fully persuaded that you will buy your land and build your own house this year.
I am fully persuaded that you those of you due for marriage will marry this same year.
You need faith for your prayer to be answered
“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (Mark 11:22-24).
Your prayer plus your faith produces good result. Prayer without faith ends up in frustration. “…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (James 5:16). The fervent, passionate, heartfelt prayer of the righteous is effective. It means there must be a mix of faith with the prayer. When faith is mixed with prayer it produces power. Whatever you do not believe, you should not pray for because it would be a waste of time. God does not answer prayer that is not mixed with faith. In fact God said the reason they did not enter into rest is because they did not mix faith with the gospel they heard. When you mix your prayer with faith it will produce good result. Think about it. Prophet Isaiah came to Hezekiah in Isaiah 38. This was a prophet whose word does not fail. He came to Hezekiah and told him God said your time is up. Write your will and gather yourself. It is time for you to die. The King said Thank you very much Prophet you can go. He then turned to the wall and wept before God and asked Him; Is this how you reward people that are faithful and tithing? I restore Passover Service, I brought back the Feast of Tabernacles, and in fact I beautified the place of your Ark. Is that how you reward faithfulness? God said no, when I reward faithfulness I bless them. Is death blessing? God said I change my mind; I will add fifteen more years to your years. It was prayer with faith. The Prophet was still in the court when God told him; Go back, I have changed my mind. Tell my servant that he is not dying. I will give fifteen more extra years. That man lived for another fifteen years because his prayer was not just prayer, it was prayer that was mixed with faith.
In Genesis 18 God was going to consume Sodom and Gomorrah; but He said I cannot do this thing without telling my friend Abraham. So He came to Abraham and said “I am going to that city and I will consume everybody there in the fury of my judgment because the stench of their sin has come up to heaven.” Abraham said; LORD let us talk. What if you could find fifty righteous will still destroy the place? God said I won’t destroy. What about forty? I won’t. What about thirty? I won’t. What about ten? I won’t. I wish he had dared to go as low as one. When he stopped at ten God had to destroy the place because God couldn’t find ten. But God was almost changing his mind when Abraham was having a chat with Him in prayer by faith. Your prayer must be mixed with faith; that is when you will produce result.
